From 1 April 2008, we will be accepting applications for enthusiastic, friendly and dedicated staff to work with us for the duration of the Fringe. Working at the Festival is perhaps the best way of experiencing the madness of the largest arts festival in the world. It’s big, it’s busy and it’s hard work, but it’s also a fantastic way of meeting like minded people and properly becoming part of the Fringe Festival.
Underbelly is making a name for itself for employing a fantastic Fringe staff. The Fringe Office has carried out market research, in which Underbelly was named more than any other venue as the place with the friendliest, and most helpful, staff. Search Facebook groups for "Underbelly" and "Udderbelly" to find our staff groups and get an idea of what it is like to work for Underbelly. See full details.
Please note, however, that we will not be interviewing until May or June 2008, so please do not worry if you do not hear from us for a while. Please also note that not all applicants will be invited for an interview.
Working at Underbelly
Working at the Underbelly should be, and we think is, fun. No one works at the Fringe to make lots of money. If this is what you want to do this summer there is no point in applying. We pay all our staff a decent Fringe wage, which we will talk to you about when we discuss your job application with you. On top of your pay, we offer you outrageous drinks deals at our three bars (these, as you will find out, are three of the most popular bars at the Festival) and free tickets to all our shows (subject to availability). Most of all, we hope to offer you a tremendously fun and exciting place to work.
We expect you to work hard when on duty but similarly we want you to play hard when you are not. Underbelly is more intimate than a lot of the other big venues and we try and instil a real 'team play' ethos in the venue. If you’ve ever wanted to get to grips with the Fringe and chuck yourself right into the middle of it, then we’d love to hear from you. We’re convinced we can give you a great Festival experience.
