WAP site for mobile devices

In 2004, we introduced a WAP site to allow visitors to access certain information on their mobile phones or other mobile devices such as PDAs. In 2005, we have improved the WAP site by linking directly to our database so that news and information on the Late Show and Underbelly Live will automatically be available on the WAP site at the same time it is available on the main site.

On the WAP site, you can get:

  • During Edinburgh Fringe:
    • What's on now - list of all shows starting immediately
    • Full list of performers at each Late Show, Spank!, Maxwell's FullMooners, Political Animal, Free Beer Show and Moovers and Shakers
    • Full list of performers at Underbelly Live
    • Details of all Underbelly shows

For those who are techically minded, we are have also updated the site from WAP 1.2 to WAP 2.0 to make it compatible with the latest generation of mobile phones. Unfortunately this does mean that if your phone does not support WAP 2.0, you will not be able to access the WAP site. However, a survey of our users suggested that those people likely to use the site were also those likely to have a modern mobile phone with WAP 2.0 support, such as the popular Sony Ericsson T610 and other similar phones.
